left hand rear door lock actuator FQM100710

This has given up the ghost. There are old, old posts about replacing the motor, nothig recent. One post states it is very difficult to take this apart. A genuine part is $$60 from Land Rover and $331 from a reputable outlet. The after market one is $78.
Has any one had recent experiance with this problem?
    Thanks in advabnce

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

If this is for a disco 2 I did this a couple years ago, pulling one apart to fix didn't work and then had to get a whole new assembly. Mine had to work well to be automated as it when it failed the motor that now opens and closed the tailgate actually nearly bent the tailgate as the actuator was so stuck.
