    Yes, I've changed the engine mounts.
    Unfortunately Rimmer Bros sent me the wrong ones. Aftermarket instead of Genuine.
    There was no change to the Drone / NVH.

    I'm Not sure if its EU2 or EU3 . How do I check ?.
    Its a 2004 model...
    And I've heard some people talk about geing a different tune loaded into the computer, but haven't investigated this too much.
    Maybe the air / fuel ratios affect the way the engine feels, much like pinging in a petrol motor if timing or distributor map not right.

    Another question, and maybe this should go to the wider AULRO community, Has anyone with a TD5 that is experiencing this NVH at 2250 RPM gone down the road of doing a full rotating assembly balance.
    I mean disassemble the whole engine, weighing conrods and pistons, grinding off excess metal to get each component within a gram. ?
    Can also get the crankshaft rebalanced as well, although technically it should be already to some degree from the factory.

    They doing this for race cars, but also for street cars to get a much smoother running engine.
    I've not seen it mentioned on any forum.
    Expensive exercise I know, but this drone is a Pain..

    I just pulled the trigger on a ross one today.

    I have felt the motor feels a bit rickety, and I put it down to bad engine mounts, but since my re-fresh and install of the new motor with new mounts I kept the pully and feel like this motor has the same vibes.

    Today I just installed a brand-new OEM spec fan clutch, as I knew mine was sus and it changed the way the vibes feel, really smooth now when cold all the way up to the top of the rev's but after a warmup feels a bit rickety again. I have also noticed some chirping sounds on deacceleration / engine braking like a rattle and when turning off the engine a bit of a clunk, all most sounds like the exhaust is hitting the body, but its not. So, I pulled the trigger expecting it's going to let go any day.

    I will report back once replaced.

    Yours should be EU3.

    It won't be anything to do with AFR though.

    As I mentioned earlier, you have a 5 cyl engine, notorious for vibration.

    I doubt having it all balanced will make much difference.

    EU2 and EU3 run vastly different strategies regarding "engine smoothness".

    I personally feel the EU3 might be the worse of the 2 for vibration.

    If you have wonky engine mounts they can be a dog.

    Auto or manual box?

    I went the Ross balancer as I was sick of the crap Dayco had when I spoke to someone at Ross they said that the balancer was tested to 1000 hp and 11000 rpm. They were modeled of the skyline balancer it is now fitted no complaints.

    Isn't a chirping sound and a bit of a clunk possibly the double cardan joint on the way out.
