Tyre sizes
Prolly been asked 100 times, but... My D2 needs boots as the final step to reregistering. 2" lift but otherwise stock suspension. I am considering putting 265/75/16 on. Some tyre places are fine with this, some say it'll not pass RWC. Lack of clearance. I have no intention of doing anything such as cutting the bodywork, and I am not going back to MT tyres as it isn't that car. My D1, also 2" lift but much softer springs, has this size on and is mostly fine, but one of the fronts has contacted the ARB bar on a pretty rough track.
I don't care about the rolling diameter change. D2 is chipped and easily has the performance to cope ( 300 TDi not so much
), and maybe the fuel consumption will improve. The intent here is to make the Disco the daily, and have the others for anything either remote ( OKA ) or muddy ( D1 ).
Should I do it, or stay on the 245s? My RWC guy is ambivalent, which is a blessing.
