SubscriberProlly been asked 100 times, but... My D2 needs boots as the final step to reregistering. 2" lift but otherwise stock suspension. I am considering putting 265/75/16 on. Some tyre places are fine with this, some say it'll not pass RWC. Lack of clearance. I have no intention of doing anything such as cutting the bodywork, and I am not going back to MT tyres as it isn't that car. My D1, also 2" lift but much softer springs, has this size on and is mostly fine, but one of the fronts has contacted the ARB bar on a pretty rough track.
I don't care about the rolling diameter change. D2 is chipped and easily has the performance to cope ( 300 TDi not so much), and maybe the fuel consumption will improve. The intent here is to make the Disco the daily, and have the others for anything either remote ( OKA ) or muddy ( D1 ).
Should I do it, or stay on the 245s? My RWC guy is ambivalent, which is a blessing.

I think it is the best size for a 2" lift if you want bigger tyres, and they look great setup like that. I'd go 265/75-16.
I've got a totally different suspension setup, but I run 285/75-16 and absolutely love that size, the 265's will be very similar.

SubscriberIf it's a daily, and you want slightly better performance ( or the same as now in your case ) , braking and unsprung weight, then something like a wildpeak at3w in 265/70/16 do a 113 which is still tough enough for most stuff but relatively light.
Pretty much all AT tyres in 265/75/16 are LT rated, which is fine but a couple of KG heavier.
Having said that, I, and a few others in this neck of the woods have been very happy with the Maxxis AT811 in that size, comfort, noise and toughness wise, they also look good if that's of importance.
As long as your RWC guy is ambivalent about speedo readings if you don't have a corrector.
245/75/16 = 5% under read
265/70/16 = 6% " "
265/75/16 = 'bout 9.5%
Neither of these sizes will improve your fuel economy, HT for that..... but you knew that

SubscriberYep! Maybe the D1 could use a camel cut... or a dromedary one. Have to wind up the boost a touch or the thing wouldn't get up the driveway. it's why I took 'em off the OKA, which if anything makes less power.You know you want to!

SubscriberIn Qld you would not pass RW with 265/75 with 2 inch lift. I personally like (almost) 31 inch 245/75/16 with a 2 inch lift but I can see the appeal of 2 cm wider tyres for extra height and the look of it. I suppose 30.5-31 inch is not big any more and a lot of utes in particular are running 32 and 33 inch so tracks become worn to suit. Cheers
