This mod cuts the signal to the SLABS ECU, but leaves the input to the Instrument Panel CDL light.
This is the corresponding wiring diagram which shows which wire is being cut (wire to the highlighted connector input C0506-9):

I've had a debate long time ago with mr. Urban Panzer about this mod which IMO is not as good ideea as it seems on first sight cos i've done it before studying hard about this system and happened to me not once to lose motion in deep mud with locked diff and TC kicking in cos there are cases when the locked diff can come in "conflict" with the TC and work one against the other with the early SLABS ECUs hence the TC is disabled for a good reason IMO... the prove for me was that after i reconnected the wire i went through the same mud with locked diff without such problems while the TC was disabled. The "clean" way is to let it work as it was done from factory or fit an "upgraded ECU" which was removed from a facelift, that's what i did and got done with it.Quote:

I did like the idea of switching the input to the SLABS so you could decide based on the conditions, but putting in a MY03 ECU would be another option.
I take it there are some extra wiring mods needed to achieve this on the pre-MY03 models.
