I'm thinking to remove all the plastic bits(myself) and take it to a local screen mob near me in Airport West. I've done a few screens with them and they've been OK.
I just don't trust them to remove plastic trims and stuff.

I just got the notification that it's been shipped, and then another with tracking info .. with the caveat that all it says is that package being returned ... whatever that means??

It was received by the logistics handler, then not accepted(unsure where tho), then it has two entries for package returning to the logistics company at the time of trying to depart the country of origin(or something to that effect)

Other 'problem' is I also needed the end pieces too, so I ordered those as well(I think a different store) ... and zero info on when they will be shipped out. At least the plenum mob have tried too(I think, dunno?).
So, I don't want to install it until I have all the parts needed. But when the plenum actually arrives, I'll call back in.

I always thought packages were supposed to be delivered to purchasers! ... and picked up from senders.
Anyhow, Chinese obviously do things a bit differently over there.

I suspect that there is a problem with shipping price/packaging/or related problems of that kind. $26 for shipping sounded more than a bit too good to be true.

I've got a plenum type plastic thing saved for the Pug 307 on Ali. Price of plastic piece is similar about $300, roughly similar size, and all shipping rates for those things are in the $200 range.
How does D2 plenum guy do it for only $26 for such a large fragile item? .. hence why delivered to sender maybe?

My order is now NOT happening.(as I kind of suspected it wouldn't with the crazy cheap price of shipping)

I think I mentioned that the shipping tracking info showed item delivered to sender.

What I reckon he's done is completely underestimate the cost of shipping, shipper refused to forward it at the low price, returned to customer and it's back in his hands.

Messaging to and fro between me and him, and instead of offering and alternative method of shipping, he's just replying "no way to ship item, it's too big" ... or similar words to that effect.

Unlikely that there is "no way" to ship the item, if so, China would have gone broke years ago!!

So he's just lazy and doesn't want to take the time to properly package the plenum.
Either way, THEY want me to cancel the order.

FWIW: I have also been looking for a similar/different plenum piece for the little Pug 307. Plenum itself is a bit cheaper(mid $100s) but the shipping is all roughly the same at near $200-ish from any of the shops(I suspect all the same people anyhow).

Question is, is it a scam. Going by shipping info, I'm not sure it is, because it did get picked up and sent to onforwarding company, which then got shipped back to sender. So something got shipped. Just not out of the country!

The shop I bought from is called Shop5891795.
There are two other stores that also trying to sell the plenum, now at reduced prices, but they are the same business ... all licensed at the same premises, even tho they all have different business start dates.

Other two business names are MiBeauty and AH Boom. Both listing at just under $300Au(as of 31 Mar 24).

Also, doing a search on Ali now for the JAK part number, I only see two different listings from the other 'two stores', but not from my guy.

The Beauty store claim 2 sold, and Boom doesn't specify any sold yet. When I clicked on my purchase, I remember he stated 4 sold at that time.

Guess that figures. You get your $$$ back?

Windscreen guy put my cracked one back, glued together with urethane. Hardly see the crack. No extra charge. Gunna leave it at that.
