Hi, the aircon onthe D2 has it's own diagnostic protocol, first of all see if it shows any code or not
Howdy everyone. I have just dove into the Landrover world and am loving it. I have a 2000 model Td5 discovery and am having A/C problems. The compressor is kicking in and running but the internal fan wasnt blowing so I replaced that thinking it would solve all my problems but am still not getting any air out of the vents? The internal fan is working now but nothing what so ever out of any of the vents. Is there somebody in the Gold Coast area I can possibly go to to get this sorted. Ive just replaced both front window regulators so I can wind down the windows now which definitely helps but I really want the A/C working.
Cheers for any help !!

You said A/C, and air through vents: Does this mean that the issue is only with A/C and no air, or no air at all(irrespective) of A/C on or off?
TD5 had same issue, but fan always worked. And no air was always the case .. heat, flow through(ie. no A/C) or A/C on. We just had no air through any vents.
And setting the blower to it's 'loudest' setting didn't gave nothing.
At the time I never thought to check if any air flowing behind the glovebox(as this is where most air was going).
First thing I though was dead flap motor not sending air to wherever was supposed to go to.
Pulled dash fascia off and the problem was mightily obvious why no air through vents.
Some previous gorilla had taken to the heater box with their largest hammer and totally smashed the plastic box into many thousand of shards .. so that all air was channeled behind the dash. That is the flap motors were working to direct air to face, feet, screen, etc., but the path of least resistance for the air was behind the dash/cubby/drivers side .. not the actual vents.
I glued all the shards, I could find, back together(JB weld) and and added some silicon to the gaps where shards didn't completely seal, and voila! ... air through vents again.![]()

All Fixed...It would seem someone replaced the interior fan but the polarity was wrong and the fan was spinning backwards? So no Flow ...
Hmm I'd be a bit worried about that situation, more so than the original problem.
There are two types of fan plugs(that I know, could be more, but I've only seen two, in my experience).
I'd say someone has changed the fan, and could only find the other type(of connector). Fans are all the same, and 'some' Toyota Camry fans can fit too.
But the plug is different. "earlier types have a wider twin parallel spade type connector, later have a T arrangement black spade connector.
The easy bodge is to cut the wires and then use normal spade connectors to bridge the difference between what your car has, and what the replacement fan is.
Only problem is typical spade connector types can't handle the up to 40amps of power that the fan can use, so they can burn out.
This is just guessing on my part here, but from your comment that the wires were 'wrong way around' I'd say this is what's been done down there.
At least good to see an easy fix for the problem.
