    Coolant on reservoir

    I have just noticed coolant on the resevoir tank, above the seam. I am thinking that the coolant cap has died. The amount visible was minimal. The resevoir was maybe an inch lower than the low mark. Before I rush out and buy a new cap, anything else to look out for? I will be keeping a close eye on coolant levels and temps. Just in case.

    Is it the standard tank? Check for cracks around the filler neck.

    return hose from radiator leaks.

    The return hose from the radiator is leaking. It has one of those odd clips on it, a crimp type, part number PYC101150 do these lose their grip? or is it the hose? Shorten the hose and refit? I think I've done this before.

    More likely to be the hose I would think.

    The hose has oil written on it, maybe it is not good for coolant. Releasing the clip was a bit tricky. I guess there is a tool for that

    Have had the same problem and it turned out to be leaking from the hose with that funny clamp.

    A new clamp and all was fixed.

    There is a special tool for those clamps. Because I have the tool, when I changed the hose I reused it but it leaked.

    I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
