I tried that, The wood and jack angled down, I put a log under the wood and the car lifted up. I'll have another go this weekend.

See if you can borrow or hire a porta-power. I have one but I'm not coming to Willy anytime soon. I wouldn't suggest buying one just for one job, but they can be handy if you have other stuff to do.

Hmmm. Maybe buying isn't so silly. Hiring ain't as cheap as I thought...

Buying may be the way to go if I struggle over the weekend.

If you ask nicely, John might let you use his, mind you, if he helps, you'll need an engine crane to get him up again!
    Head east, young man.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Settle down lad. I know I broke my back last time we were out. But I have lost 20 kegs in 18 months. Getting up is much easier.

Oh, and Julian did ask nicely, so it's on. Hour's drive here, one minute on the ramps, and an hour's drive back.

He has an engine crane? I don't have to haul my self up via rope, pulleys and the roof rack? Woo Hoo.

You can buy scissor jacks really cheap and that should be all you need. Your second car may have one.
BTW my LH roll bar also rubbed on the inner guard plastic for 7 years and I didn't worry about it and it had no discernable effect on anything.

EDIT The SLS is manual. I've pumped both sides to the same height, the problem has gone
Yes, often the issue with uneven front ride height on a Disco 2 with SLS is that the SLS isn't equal causing additional load to a single corner.
Sometimes the SLS ride height sensors will need to be recalibrated post front spring changes.
