I think it might be called "ABS"....
Be good if you could get someone who knows D2's to check it out.

Hard to explain this feeling, but here goes:
I bought a D2a V8 with stock suspension and (probably) the factory shocks with about 120km on them (I know...)
Sometimes when I drive on very bumpy roads and apply brakes, it feels like the brakes give in and like I'll slide out and need to apply brakes even harder.
Is that normal? And because the wheel is temporarily in the air for a bit?
Or something coming loose or not working as it should when vibrating or whatever?
Booster issue? Vacuum hose connector coming loose (I've got a small vacuum leak coming from the plastic bit connecting to air intake, see video here from other post)?
Already done:
- New Falken tyres
- Front rotors and pads replaced (Bosch)
- Brake master cylinder replaced (aftermarket; factory was leaking)
- DOT 4 fluid replaced, bled
- Upper and lower ball joints replaced

James is probably correct. D2 ABS can feel a little weird to the uninitiated. Still surprises me sometimes, and I've owned one since 2009! But sure, get it looked at if it worries you.
And maybe check this thread..

A mechanic checked it out a month or two ago but couldn't really replicate.
The ABS light doesn't come on when that happens though?
I had a d2 for few years and. I remember the first time had to use the brakes in earnest. The pedal appeared to travel a long way and I could feel the abs pulsing. I pulled up quite rapidly actually.
Some weeks later I attended an advanced 4wd training course and the instructor was a seasoned d2 driver himself and when we did emergency braking he quite surprised me on the bitumen by getting me to brake harder than I ever have and pedal travel was quite high and the abs really kicked in and pulsed so much that the emergency indicators flashed , but he said it was normal for the d2.
When we got on the dirt he taught me cadence braking using rapid deep fast brake applications to pull the vehicle up in possibly half the distance that a full blooded. brake application could.
I have since used cadence braking on other vehicles , so be totally confident of what appears to be a long pedal in your d2.
Try it somewhere when no one is watching.
cheers Den
