A while ago I got rid of the secret hose and all associated pipe work.
I just put a rubber blanking cap over it. Last year this hose, being about three years old, failed.
I went to super crap and purchased another. This lasted just on 12 months and it also failed.
Obviously it was an inferior product, don't remember the brand.
Has anyone had this problem and what is a good brand? Are there any options to thread and cap or plug with a steel cap or plug?
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

SupporterI did the delete job on my Defender 5 years ago and just recently replaced the factory cap on my late D2a, again I used the same 19mm silicone cap from Samco, available from Kudos. Recommend.

So clearly the secret hose is not needed, why did Land Rover put there?
Or is that a secret 🤔

SupporterRemoved the hose on Leaky when I put a new radiator in. And yep a few years later it blew the blanking plug apart, I saw the steam come out the back when it went, so stopped straight away. Was a 100Km trip on a tow truck to Bendigo and a 400Km trailer trip to home.
I check the plug every time I'm near it now.
