Hello,
Pretty sure sierrafery is correct.
If there is no movement on the gauge when you activate the speedo test feature within the SLABS menu, and no road speed is displayed on the Nanocom, then something is wrong between the SLABS and instrument cluster.
I would follow sierrafery's advice and temporarily disconnect from and rejoin join the wires going to the SCU.
I would also use the Nanocom to see if each wheel speed sensor is giving a good value. Should be under SLABS > INPUTS > INPUT ABS > PAGE 2.
Communication between the Nanocom and SLABS ECU will only work under 8km/h before it will freeze and stop working.
Flow of communication should happen something like:
1. The SLABS ECU generates the vehicle road speed signal based on the average of four ABS wheel sensors, and sends it to the instrument pack, ACE ECU, and stereo amplifier among a couple other places.
2. The instrument pack will take the speed signal and run the speedo gauge and odometer.
3. The instrument pack will also take the speed signal and send it over a serial data link to the BCU so its odometer and speed locking door feature can operate too.
And for Slunnie, yes the odometer will flash if there is a mismatch between the instrument pack and BCU, but I don't know what the tolerance is.
They can be synchronised, but the synchronisation only works in an upwards direction, so the higher mileage (kilometerage sounds wrong) figure takes over.
You can stop the flashing if you head to VALEO BCU > SETTINGS > TRANSM-LOCK-WARN > LAST PAGE > And changing odometer error warn to "NOT FITTED".
Hope this helps!
Have just gotten to this bit (I left this project on the side for a bit)
I can't for the life of me remove the connector from the plastic terminal. I've removed the two-pronged plastic "holder" from the side, but the actual female connector isn't coming out of the life of me. Is there a good way to remove it?
