    Gearbox died

Traveling to Adelaide with a van on the back, got just out Nurioopta and lost all drive. No strange noises just “grabbed” a couple times then nothing. Auto, was having a hard time on the hills but i wasn’t flogging it. Guessing torque converter or pump. Now to sort out hire car and trailer and stuff.😞

    I know too.

Apologises to the OP as we have not really addressed your issue.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Not much to address. If it hasn't dumped its fluid then it's probably lunched its A clutch. Rebuild coming up.

you might be able to coax it into moving by manually selecting first gear while in low range. Sometimes selecting sports mode will up the clutch pressures enough to get you limping, if it does work, you dont have a lot of Kms up your sleeve.

    Good luck

Sorry been busy weekend with the Shannons Adelaide. Was towing a big van so had been working hard in the hills but was on relatively flat road when it died, felt like it grabbed a couple of times then just no drive. No fluid loss, wasn't working hard at the time just cruising along. Tried low range nothing either, doesn't load up in any gear, no noises, just stopped driving. It had a new filter before last trip and i checked the level before this trip, gearbox and transfer case. Car and van weighed in at 5ton when i left home. Coming back over in another week to pick it up and bring it back home, at my brothers at Sandy Creek just out of Gawler. The rear main needs replacing and the transfer case seals need doing as well while the box is out.
Used my son's LDV D90 to tow the van home and even it knew it was on the back, got hot if you pushed it too hard.
