Smile Discovery 2 ACE diagnosis help

Hey everyone, my name is Jack, and I'm new to the forums, and Land Rover ownership. Thankfully, i know my way around a set of tools well enough to get me by.

To anyone reading i was hoping someone would be able to offer some insight on my ACE problems. I've read through a few forum posts and have a bit of an idea on where to start.

A bit of background Information: I bought the car with ACE warnings on the dash. The lights come on as soon as you start the vehicle, and the previous owner has allegedly replaced the ACE pump with a Used 'good' example to try and fix the problem which doesn't appear to have been the issue. The pump appears to be working as the fluid is moving in the reservoir, but looks reasonably aerated. The bleed procedure likely hasn't been carried out as the previous owner didn't have a NANOCOM or similar.

I Have checked the fuses and swapped the relay, everything there seems to be ok.

I have a NANOCOM EVOLUTION, and noted @sierrafery has said NANOCOM devices can have difficulty reading fault codes accurately, so I've bridged the ACE relay and recorded the live data as they described.

    The readings are as follows;
    Battery voltage - 013.78
    DCV1/DCV2 - 000.01
    PCV - 000.00
    Pressure Sensor - 000.00
    Residual Pressure - 020.00
    System Pressure - 000.00
    Upper Lateral Accelerometer - -00.09
    Lower Lateral Accelerometer - 000.01

I'm a bit stumped as lots of the values here differ greatly from that of a well working system. However, i have aslo read that ECU failure is not a particularly uncommon problem, so maybe that's what has happened here?

Any insight any of you may have would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for taking the time to respond, and all the best,
    Jack.

Hi, first thing to do is to replace the pressure transducer to be 100% ruled out also do somehow and load up a video with the fluid's behaviour in the tank please to see exactly what you mean by "...the fluid is moving in the reservoir, but looks reasonably aerated..." ... if you remove both caps the activity of the PAS and ACE fluids should be quite the same, here's a video from mine:

btw, the warning is amber or red?

Hey, thanks for the swift response. 20250308_162733_1.mp420250308_162733_1.mp420250308_162733_1.mp4 Here is a video of the ACE fluid. As you can see its quite low. The warning on the dash is amber. I will order a replacement pressure transducer and some PAS fluid. Ill post an update here once they're installed.

    Thanks,
    Jack.

IMO that pump is not OK at all, maybe it was not primed after fitting and then they used to fail ... top up the reservoir and undo the outlet banjo half way untill you get clear and strong flow then tighten it back and if after that the fluid will not act like in my video and still bubbling you'll need a 100% good pump too which must be primed well before the outlet is tightened.

AAMOF the best way to rule out a pump is to get a similar banjo with a piece of hose(or buy a leaking feed pipe from a scrapyard and improvise it with a piece of hose) as to connect it to the pump and insert the other side directly into the tank then you can see if it's working well or not cos the flow must be strong and clear of air with a good pump and after such procedure you can connect the vehicle's feed pipe cos you know the pump was primed.
