Check the hill descent control switch. Just a guess because no warning lights appear to be on.

Hi all, I drove my Land Rover down to the snow recently and was getting ready to head back, everything so far has been fine, starts runs no worries. But I went to start it again this afternoon and it's decided to just constantly beep at me. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this? I've checked all the doors and bonnet are properly locked and latched, the lights are not on. I'm a bit stumped the owners manual seems to say it could be my transfer gearbox is in neutral, but it's not it's in high and I have been driving it around in high with no issue. The sound comes on as soon as I turn the key on even before I turn on the engine. It doesn't seem to go away while driving. Is it something to do with the SLS? The car was converted to coil suspension by a previous owner but it hasn't been an issue.
I have attached a video of the sound playing as an MP4, you can see the sound is not coming from the exhaust temp guage.

Thats my headlights on, but engine is off chime.
Key is in the ingition and the door is open
I've just had a read of RAVE and the owners manual and there are only a couple of things that give continuous chimes.
- Light on, engine off
- Transfer in N - Mine doesn't have this sensor.
- HDC turned on, but other conditions not met (ie not in Low range etc) - green flashing light in top left of dash
- HDC failure - amber warning light
- Key in the starter switch - stops when door is closed or key removed
I would check the transfer case wires are all in place and clean as there are no warning lights if this is faulting. The N warning chimes would sound if this wire is earthing. We shouldn't have a N sensor, but that doesnt mean we dont (mine doesn't) or that the wiring isn't there still and shorting out somehow. This will be a black or black/pink wire.
The transfer however will probably have 2 wires, Hi/Lo range selection (red/pink wire) and CDL selection }(black or black/blue).
The only way I could get mine to chime that that was headlights on, engine off and key in with door open.
Cheers

My lights on door open is a slower beat than that.

Couple of questions...
1. What engine?
2. With the ignition on, do your interior lights come on when the door is open, and off again when door is closed?
3. Does the green HDC icon show up on the cluster when you press the yellow button on the dash?
4. Do you have an automatic or manual? The sticker below the AC controls seems different to what's on my auto Td5.
If it is an automatic, try selecting high range, and pressing the mode button on the shifter. The green S for sport (ha ha) should light up on the dash if the computer agrees high range is selected.
Press the mode button again to return to normal mode, select low range, and press mode again. This time a green M for manual should show on the dash. Does this work?
