Thread: Provent 200 snot

Hi all I have a question regarding my Provent 200 at my 10,000-k service the Provent was full of a black thick slime it did have water in it but the oil I drained from the sump was clear of water and part of the normal carbon deposits after letting the old oil sit over night was in good shape. Any ideas of what could of caused the slime in the Provent would be great.

Snot is probably a biofilm and the water is from the crankcase exhaust condensing and as the saying goes, "there's no life without water" even if it's just bacterial.
