Looking for the origin of this front propshaft..

    HI

whoever did the lift on my disco2 did not do anything with front crossmember consequently the aftermarket front propshaft, mangled its rubber boot and only its boot thank goodness
trouble is I'm now looking for a replacement or rebuild kit for this propshaft.
I was wondering if any of the experts here could shed some light as to its origins and if possible the manufacturer.
I was informed that the standard should be ok for up to a 2" lift, I would like to rebuild this as a spare hence my interest

I wouldn't mess around with rebuilding it, you don't know if the shaft has bent due to contact with the cross member. I know I sound like a broken record at times, but for stock/mild applications just get a Hardy Spicer replacement, even their standard replacement is heavier duty than factory LR and has grease nipples in all the right places. I picked one up late last year cost about $550 inc, thats just me walking in, no trade account or anything.

    Cheers

Limp home spare at best. Front shaft failure on a D2 is a show stopper, but I guess you know that. As for the lift, mine has been lifted for 150K. I did have a failure but I caught it before disaster and it failed because the uni didn’t have a grease nipple. Ian was kind enough to supply me with another one which I could rebuild. But if I had had the budget at the time I would have just ditched it. Cheaper than a new transmission.
