    Discovery 2 air compressor reliability

Hey guys I've just acquired my first land rover, a discovery 2 with air suspension on the rear that currently is having some issues. The compressor at the moment isn't working, and blows fuses if I replace them so it is currently running on some plumbing connectors with the bags hosed together with a fitting for my battery air compressor.

I have a new replacement compressor coming and some proper hose fittings to repair the airbag lines properly, but my concern is how reliable the air compressor is being on the bottom of the truck out in the elements. It feels like a waste of time to fix the lines and replace the compressor if it can't handle getting wet, so I want some opinions from people who have used these trucks and know how the compressors last on them

    Cheers

I've found the compressor to be sturdy and reliable, not prone to failure from elemental issues.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Awesome, I've got about $600 of bits and pieces for it coming, figured I should ask about that compressor before I waste my time doing all the work I've got planned. My other trucks a new Navara, and any drop of water around my transfer case causes it to go bananas....

As mentioned, they are a robust unit, they generally only fail if a leaking airbag or fitting is ignored for a long time, making the compressor work overtime.

I think you mean Bagpiping Andy, I guess it's an airbag of sorts.

Seems to have had a name change or a change of ownership.

Awesome, my compressor didn't seem to be running at all so I have a replacement in bound, hopefully a new unit will sort whatever issue it had. It was blowing fuses the second the height adjustment button was pressed

Hey guys I've got my new compressor in and run some new airlines with valves to allow me to manually pump the bags if required, but I've noticed one side is sitting higher than the other by a good 50mm or so. Any ideas on this? I have some cheap replacement sensors to go on but unsure if they will require a computer to program them to my vehicle or if they will just plug straight in and be good to go.

    Appreciate any advice
