Did you take a book to read whilst the other good looking rigs were out playing?

True, I finally got Smoky out to have his first play, though will wait to go harder once I have a few things in place. Here he is with the big boys:

I have enjoyed looking at the Disco's so I thought I'd have a go at showing mine. She was brought while the family was on holidays in Townsville when still living in Thursday Island and I traded my wife much loved car in on her (wife not to happy with that, but she loves the new car).
She's a 03 TD5 D2 brought stock in 2007 and have been setting her up for touring. I've since added an ARB winch bar with 12,000lb Ironman winch, ARB side steps, cargo barrier, dual batteries, 2 inch Ironman lift, Airbag man rear suspension bags, Electronic Rust Protection, Trademans Oval Roof rack, Safari Snorkel and am running Pirelli Scorpion ATR 245 70 16 tyres.
Next on the list is a ECU and Intercooler up grade and a Dual Wheel carrier/Steel rear bumper replacement.

Basically std. 98 Petrol. UHF, 2" lift, ARB front bar, 12000lb winch, Safari snorkel, dual batteries, side steps and Rally 4000 driving lights. Pretty happy with it but needs bigger rubber.

I cant remember whether I have posted on this thread or not so I thought I would (again?). Had my disco for about 5-6 years now and love it. Next stage for her is lockers, bigger lift, rock sliders and some 33-34 inch Simex's.

here are some pics (I hope) of our standard 300 Tdi D1 near Melrose - our 1st off road driving in it.
Love this car.
Springs are a bit saggy at the back - I expected some bumps and scrapes but didn't have any trouble thanks to the fantastic short overhang on the D1 :)
to do:
new rear springs (or maybe air bags or both)
fix headlining, starting to let go.
put a 12V socket & extra light in the back.
done:
timing belt, cooling system, tyres (Bridgestone Duelers), UHF
Most of the pics are on the pretty tame Bridle track near Melrose. We went on another track (Bundilla I think) with some very steep descents, (low range 1st didn't have to touch the brake) - It seems to work out that I take photos only when it's convenient to get out of the car, so I don't have any of the rougher bits of the tracks.
Cheers
Paul
Thats a popular track in Vic? My brother lives in Vic and has sent my vids of him friving through that rutted deep water hole, but at a higher speed to get the 'splash' happening.
Great shots all, makes me want to convert my disco into a mud pig now
Dont do it...Toolangi mud has its way of getting back at you...
