Some SLS advice for a newb
We've finally got our '02 Disco 2 on the road after an excessive wait for the NZ compliance process to conclude (we imported it from Japan, and like all second hand imports it needed to go through the usual checks, but we seem to have struck the worst compliance agent in the country...absolutely useless!)
This is our first Land Rover and it would seem I am about to experience one of the typical issues that many of you have faced at one time or another. Mind you it's only traveled 18,000kms and so far everything works 100 % ...except for the SLS!
I'm not having the fairly typical sagging air bag challenge (not yet anyway), simply the bags won't raise when I press the inflate button on the dash. I've got the engine running and all the doors closed, but nothing happens. Everything seems fine when driving so I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue, leak, or simply a need to reset the ECU? I haven't got the soapy water out to check but thought I'd save a bit of shagging around and ask if any other D2 owners out there have had the same problem, and if so what did you do to fix it.
All help/comments will be much appreciated...
Cheers
Adam.

Hi Rabs999,
I am assuming the vehicle as suggested in your post that the suspension is not sagging but wont raise when u press the button..Means at normal ride height u cant raise the suspension any higher when u push the button.
If this is the case u need to hold the button for 3-5 sec's, a chime will be heard & the dash will show a flashing rear end raising symbol & will illuminate fully when finished, obviously when 30kmh is reached the vehicle will lower to normal ride height.
Hope this helps

Thanks Pete, yes you're correct, it sits at normal ride height, just won't raise when the button is pushed. I probably just haven't waiting long enough for it to do it's thing. I'll go give it another try and see how I get on.
Cheers
Adam
