Hi Phoenix
I didn't realize you were in Launceston.
I had this exact problem with my 2004 TD5 outside 38 Brisbane St Launceston last December. I'm still none the wiser as to the exact cause of the problem. It wasn't due to the Key Fob battery as I changed while I was having the problem, and the original was OK.
The vehicle electrics are in excellent condition, and I'm sure the problem was due to external interference.
I described the problem in my post

Sounds like interference from the same place (whichever one that may be).
When I walk past there on the way to my car tonight i'll have to see if there is any obvious antennas about the place. I suspect that it is something in the dentist surgery, or the fancy new comptuer screens in the real estate agents window there.
Uncanny... I read this thread the day before my Disco did the same thing!!!!
We just had 2 wireless and blue tooth networks installed at work, so I switched power off to the senders, and waited 10mins and normality was restored.
Bloody annoying thing to happen!!! And of course I dont have the EKA code:mad:
Well at least its not likely to happen out in the scrub!!!:D
Johnsy
Its not a bug in the system..
Its sloppy RF from poorly manufactured devices in the shops...
Anything can cause this in another system...
Happens to PCs, HiFi, Radios, anything electronic can be influenced by it...
RF is particularly prone, ever hear your mobile 'talking' to the towers through your stereo speakers?
