    D2 Electrical inteference

Ok, I'm off to do a search now, but i'll ask anyway

My old man has been having trouble starting and getting into his D2. It's a 2002 V8, and I expect that it's electrical inteference, I'm just trying to pin it down more specifically so he knows which store not to park near.

Can't start, can't get into proplerly and can't disable the alarm / immobiliser.

    Thoughts??

Does he by any chance have an external GPS device ie a bluetooth GPS receiver that is plugged in via a USB charge cable to the Cigarette lighter. This will cause the exact problem every time..... I had the same issue and this was the culprit.

Where we park our D2 in Hurstville has some inteference that's stops us unlocking the car, we can get into the car using the key, you need to be quick so as not to set the alarm off.

    Car will start though.

On the D2au site, there is a section for the places that this happens and also you can add one too.

Battery is about to die could be another issue. I had to swap the battery from my 110 into the discovery earlier this week due to the d2 battery not having enough charge to disarm the imobiliser and then start up.

Pheonix how did your old man fair with his dramas? Was it the battery, the alternator or the checkout chick?

That sounds like a bad joke doesn't it.

Everything is ok on the vehicle it seems, so inteference seems the most likely cause, especially as there is only a problem in one physical locaiton.

Don't rule out the battery, mine would work fine after half an hour, check the voltage on it and the alternator to be sure.
