my guess...
WD40/ dry the High Tension ignition system first.
All leads from coils to spark plugs (they are coil packs, no dizzy right?)
If I do go through some and it stops... What's it gunna be and what do i do!

CONROD!!!!!!!!!
"Hello..... yes, one Snorkel please!"
WD40! Nice low tech solution.
So I am guessing it'll be the same as any other petrol 4x4 stopping amidcreek!
Thanks. Now I can d the cape!
Also depends on how submerged your electronics get. Depending on how old your vehicle is determins how water resistant seals are on components like the engine bay fuse box etc. A good idea is to wrap a tarp around the front of the vehicle for extra protection whilst wading. Also check the installation job on the snorkel when you get one.
My worrie would be how good are the door seals. I had water over the bonnet of my Pajero a number of times when I did Cape York. Back door leaked slightly once. Another time one rear door on down stream side leaked. small puddle on floor.
Haven't tested the Disco yet.
Plus make sure your snorkle is sealed near the air box. Mine needs some sealer on the tube feeding in to it.![]()
So do you disconnect the fan. I have had the water over the headlights a few times and over the door bottoms.... but I was just interested seeing all these shots with D2s with water at the windscreen. It's been pretty water proof, just a little dampness next to the lower door bottoms and a smell for a few days!
Good question.....I thought that the fan would 'grab' at the water and pull itself into the radiator. After all it's designed to pull the air through the radiator and water being a liquid....
Could someone tell us the norm - should the fan be disconnected? How's this done.....without taking the belt off and thus having no water pump or alternator?!![]()
I never had to worry about it with the Pajero, as the fan is well spaced from the radiator. Also I would have thought the viscus fan would not spin when in water, due to the resistance. But now I'm having a re think. Anyone game to drown the front end with the bonnet up and see whats going on ?![]()
