I have a water sound too and noticed yesterday that when I checked the coolant level (all good) before I started her up that when releasing the cap it made a hissing sound like it was hot.

    Failed heater matrix

I had exactly the same problem, followed a short time later with the drivers side carpet flooded with coollent, fortunately caught it before the engine cooked.

My only guess is that the heater matrix has failed, leaked or otherwise given up the ghost.

I have disconnected the heater pipes in the engine bay and by-passed them, refilled and all good, other then the soaked carpet and no functioning heater!!!

Quote for a new only is about $400! And it looks like it will be bitch of a job to get at it, even with rave as a guide.

Does anyone know if these can be repaired?

    Hi Tony

Replacing the core is the option .... I know that there is a Post on this forum with pictures of how to do the job ..... Do a search under "Heater Core replacement" (something along those lines)
