    D2 bonnet scoop

hi - just wondering about placing a bonnet scoop out of a nissan or holden onto the bonnet of my S2. question is i know they either bolt, rivet or glue scoop down but are they holes drilled in the scoop to allow air to flow into the engine bay. Im after the look and thinking of placing two on the bonnet. would i need to drill holes in the bonnet and how big a hole do i need to create to allow the air flow. series of smaller holes or one big hole. have never looked under the nissan scoop so not sure. thx

What do you really want a bonnet scoop for on a Disco?

if its for looks,, it'll have to be "hole to the front"
which will swallow water VERY well,,

however, the scoop when faced "hole to the screen" will extract hot air very well,,

didnt BB do this a while back?

As I understand it... you want to have bonnet scoops on the bonnet... but no holes through the bonnet.

    In all honesty.....

I'd start with 22" rims and spinners.

BigBugga did it to his D1 using a GU scoop. His idea was to improve underbonnet temps being V8 powered and living in the Pilbara(one of the hotter parts of Aust)
    It did look good.
I put one on our Triton when we had it,it was a GU copy from The Spoiler Factory(Armadale WA).It too looked great, and was for a purpose,I had fitted a turbo intercooled(top mount intercooler) motor from a newer Pajahero.

My suggestion and I stress this is only a suggestion is as follows.......

Go out to your Disco and have a look at how nice it looks as standard.

Get underneith and notice that it has a high/low transfercase and live axels front and rear and maybe come to the conclusion that it should be used off road.

The realise that if you cut holes in the bonnet may limit it's 4wding potential in certain situations.

Then if still convinced that you need a vehical with bonnet scoops then you take it to your local Nissan dealer and trade down to a Pootrol with a nice shinny new scoop.

    Just a suggestion
