I'm pretty sure the Wildcat is an old tyre. It's been around for ages.
I'm posting here to ask if any Disco 2 owners have used Micky Thomson tyres on their Disco's?
Apparantly there is a new MT tyre - the Wildcat - has anyone got this on their Disco?
I'm looking at the wildcat for road use and the MTZ or radial claw for mud rims.
Any opinions appreciated. Thanks.![]()

I have mtz 265,s,75,16 on rock crawler rims on mine. (any opinion) Just be aware of the profile of the rim you want to use in conjunction with if or any suspension mods you do.
I have just fitted a set of Mickey Thompson MTZ's in 265 x 75 x 16 on standard alloys.
Very impressed with the tyres so far IMHO they are better than my previous tyres which were Cooper STT's & Goodyear Wrangler MTR's.
They are suprisingly quiet, have good grip on wet bitumen and are smooth & comfortable on the road.
In fact on the road they outperform the 18" Goodyear Wrangler HP's.
I have only done light off road work so far on these tyres but was in some wet muddy paddocks at work the other day & they seemed to be OK.

I have 265/75/16 MTZ's on my disco 1, not problems at all, less road noise than i expected, reasonable grip in the wet and 20 000k's later I am still happy, great tyres
Yep standard steel rims, mate has his on the alloys, both of us run 3 inches of lift through 2 inch coils and a spacer, i have a trimmed guard rear end but his is pretty standard and clears, we do have a reduced turning lock, i will PM some photos tomorrow after i take them![]()
