D2 owners with Milford cargo barrier please read.

I got a Milford cargo barrier fitted last week in my wife's 03 Disco. Got it home and had a look over it to see how it moves into the second position ect, then found two large semi circle cuts in the carpet under the seat. They don't appear to be associated with the install of the cargo barrier.

Was hoping some other D2 owners with cargo barriers could check thiers for me to see if they also have the cuts. I've also noticed they've cut around the four cargo tie down points. Check out the pics to see what I mean.

No I don't have this. Mine was one of the first 03's to get a barrier fitted.

Hi, my 02 has a milford barrier that the previous owner had fitted. It does not have any cuts beside the tie downs. It does however have a "U" shaped cut over each body mounting bolt under the seats, just forward of the barrier, look like they were done with a stanley knife.. Not sure why but maybe there was a service bulletin calling on the tightness of the bolts to be checked.

There are also cutouts in the carpet under the seat where the forward barrier mounting plates are fitted.

    Regards

The cuts are normal as in some places the carpet and padding are almost 1.5" deep. It is necessary to get to the floor panel to drill the holes and clean / treat them for anti corrosion.

I fitted mine on my 2000 model and was loathe to do it.

Out of interest, why are you worried about the cuts?

Thought it may have been a mistake by the installers, and that it would be an ingress point for sand/dirt/moisture. Just being pedantic about our newly acquired car I guess, shouldn't really be a problem.
