Yes, go for spaces rather than re-calibrating the bags to ride higher. I did that first & found the airbags 'topping out' while off road. I had longer bilstein shockers fitted at the same time as the spacers & had the SLS returned to the correct height. Bump stops usually come with a spacer kit, mine was from 4x4 intelligence in Melbourne.

It does ride well, although I think the biggest detriment in handling has come from the 265/70 tyres, particularly when breaking hard on uneven surface. I find it unpredictable on the odd occasion.

rear - BE5B995
front - BE56046

I am looking at doing the same. Any idea on cost? ( I know this can vary depending on the quality of shocks) but an average cost. How do the spacers work in conjunction with the height sensors? Can you fit it yourself with basic skills?

Have you checked the height difference between front and rear?

When I did my lift it was unpredictable and it darted over the road. Skitterish comes to mind. My front appeared to be higher than the back.

After searching for a solution on here you will find if you raise the rear higher than the front it will handle better.

My solution was to put in a 10mm spacer in the back and it transformed the car. It is very stable now.

Hi Dave, have a look at Products for pricing on the spacer kit. They have supplied me with excellent instructions for installation in the past, but I'm not much good with a welder (new bumpstops) so I had it installed. There is also (from memory) different height sensor parts for the SLS included. I had Coopers source the Billies for me & fit, I'm naturally lazy!

Thanks Feral - I'll check the measurements when I get the car back.

If you fit spacers you have to also fit longer arms for the sensors. The default height is 140 or 141mm so with spacers and no sensor mod the car will adjust to the sensor height. What ever you do don't just mod the sensor to stretch the standard bags - the bag won't last - they are designed to run at a particular length.

There are longer bags available - this would improve travel length as well.
