    Rear dust deflector thingies.....

On the Patrol I had, there was a factory option for a deflector that sat above the rear door and directed air coming over the roof down and onto the back doors. this worked great a very little dust accumulated around the door or the seals. I am sure I have seen the same thing for D2's but don't seem to find anyone that sells them, have any of you out there seen these, know where to get them or by chance have one you would like to donate or sell????

I'm interested in one as well, the amount of dust in my car at the moment is amazing.

Ive got one on my d2, it came with the car when i bought it though. Pretty sure that any of the likes of supercheap/repco etc can order them for you.

After I got my Disco 1 a blurb came put from L Rover about the dust deflector being now available. Pricey from memory but it was colour coded. Never saw it advertised since though so perhaps it was not popular.

    I have seen one on a D1.
If anyone has one fitted do they really work or are they just a gimmic?

    Regards

I had one that came with my old D2 when I bought it. The only thing I could see that it was good for was being the highest point on the vehicle and catching on the garage when I drove in.

Dust wise I think it made almost no difference to the one I am driving now without.

I must admit a lot of people asked what it was.

Here it is listed in the Parts cat for a D2

My friend has one on his D1, looks good, more like a roof spoiler than a dust shield. Unfortunately its an AUS only part, so I wont be able to get one

But listed at £40, its not expensive imo

back on........... Thanks for the replies, a bit of doubt as to wether they work on a disco. The one I had on the patrol worked very well, maybe because of a different roof line. At least I know I can get one from LR so willing to have a look. Thanks for the info.

    Cheers
