    Condensation in the Headlight

    Hi all,

On my D2 update, the drivers side headlight is developing condensation on the lower 1/3rd of the light.

After I get it all dried out, is there somewhere that I should be looking specifically to seal up so that it doesn't happen again?

I dont want to take the car for a swim, and then find a fish swimming in there when I come out...

    Thanks,

    Basil

Common problem on the facelift headlights, which is ones of the reasons I have not update mine yet....

From what I have read / heard, people drill some holes in the back or top of the units to allow them to "vent". How well it works, I dont know but seems a good idea.

It happens on the prefacelift models in the blinkers. I have guppies breeding in mine.

I just take them out and drain them... but one day I guess I'll drill a little hole in the bottom of it.
    Cheers

Hi to you check the face glass to the reflector body there could be a small area that is not sealed . Just rub some silent over the area .

I am thinking that the X-trails had a similar problem with their tail-lights. On SWMBO's car, there is about a 5mm hole in the reflector that doesn't seem to be there for any other reason...

Looks like I am pulling the drill out on the weekend....

    Cheers guys..
