Thread: D2 Airbag - coil swap?

I've seen a P38a which is one of the members of our club do a coil conversion and it worked out quite well.

He had some issues with the computer control as he had to do something to make it think it was all still there but I dont know if this is the same on the D2's.

With the compressor and tank he set it up with air lines and was going to use it for his lockers when he fitted them but was happy with the traction control until he could afford it.

2 inches is easy,, just press the button on the dash,,

I think with the D2 you can turn off the SLS function using Rovacom or whatever.

Agreed !!!

I will keep the Air on mine as long as possible, and "if" I ever lift it, I will just use spacers under the rear bags and front winch springs

if you do remove the air, the car just needs to be told the Vehicle has coils not air using Rovacom or Testbook like Slunnie said.

thanks guys that has given me a bit to think about.

im going to be using it for more serious offroading with no intention of towing. the vehicle has been in the family since new and the only issues we've had is both bags have had failures.

my next question is then has anyone had experience with what kit to use?

after ten years I wouldnt think of it as a failure--
more routine maitenance

go put some raised coils in it and see how long they last

Is the SLS function of benefit to you?

I know with my P38 that, without EAS I couldn't fit into the garage, so to me it is very useful. I've also noticed how good SLS is when towing or with heavy loads, as their isn't any of that wallowy feeling.

If you don't change loads around much and don't use the SLS anyway, then you might as well coil it. Could you not put some Arnott genIII extended length Airbags in there, as they have a lifetime guarantee.

As its a Disco and not a range, you might be better off just coiling it.
