I will check them out. I know I am asking a lot re a pod that does not screw into the dash, but I would like to avoid that if possible.

I've got a cheapo 3 gauge ebay pod.Its supposed to be screwed down but I find on the dash mat I've got it doesnt move around and I havnt needed to bolt it down when going offroad either. Just food for thought.

I got mine from a company here in AU, the company is called Department of the Interior

The fitting is done by bolting it down through where the dash mat lives on top of the dash, so when you remove it you just put the dash mat back on and it hides everything. Like you I don't like drilling into the dash.
