i know autobarn sell the pods but i think you still have to screw the pod down
I put this up on the General Chat site yesterday and then realized that it should have been in the Discovery section - I can only blame the alzheimers
I am wanting to install gauges to monitor engine and gearbox conditions on a 2001 Disco. ideally I would like to mount the gauges on the dash, but I have an aversion to screwing into the dash. Doers anyone know of a dash pod that will take 3 or 4 gauges suitable for the Disco - preferably available in Melbourne?
Cheers

I've got a cheapo 3 gauge ebay pod.Its supposed to be screwed down but I find on the dash mat I've got it doesnt move around and I havnt needed to bolt it down when going offroad either. Just food for thought.
google mudpods. they come from the UK and seem to be the accessory of choice
I got mine from a company here in AU, the company is called Department of the Interior
The fitting is done by bolting it down through where the dash mat lives on top of the dash, so when you remove it you just put the dash mat back on and it hides everything. Like you I don't like drilling into the dash.
Car Consoles & 4WD Storage Drawers - Department of the Interior - overhead consoles, roof consoles, custom built consoles, 4WD interiors, dashboard restorations, storage systems, vehicle consoles, radio console, dashboard repairs, dashboard pod, four
I have a UHF and a DVD in mine - but they will build to take anything - instruments, radios etc.,
I made a pod for the D1 and it bolted down through the small vent holes behind the small dash mat. I had to remove the radio to access the nuts though.
Also double sided tape could be your friend. Use the white 3M type though, it seems to handle the heat better.
