    Early D2 + Sahara bar = possible?

    Hey All,

wondering if anyone can tell me exactly what needs to be done to fit the ARB Sahara to a pre-03 D2? Have looked at the posts here and googled but what I really need to know is: on the D2 are the mods to the body work or to the bar mounts (like on the P38a)? How much work is it?

I'm getting a new front and rear bar through insurance so it would need to be fitted up by the panel beater (and warranted too). Not sure if he would want to be mucking about cutting up bar mounts, but I can probably persuade him to play around with the grill and headlights though.

Any advice? I hate the other bars avail for the early D2 and TJM dont make the alloy one I have anymore.

    Cheers,

    Adam

Yes its possible. Sniegy on here has done it. From what I understand the mounts are the same, but you have modify the grill and maybe the bottom shroud below the lights.

    Its looks good -

Yeah - bloody nice rig. Looks like a trim around the bottom of the grill and lights is going on the list for the panel shop!

    Cheers!

    Hi Adam,
    Yes it will fit.
All u need is a new grille(03/04my) & to modify the plinths(bits that slide into the old grille). The plinths will butt up against the new grille not slide into it. You will also have to cut down the plastic trims on the inside of where the grille goes. Hard to explain but when the grille wont fit you will see why.
The only other thing u will need is 2 headlight washers from an 03/04my & the 2 spring clips that hold them to the bar.

Everything else fits. The bar will bolt to the chassis no problems.

If u need any more info just ask, happy to help.

Cuciandio...I think it will fit....what u need is to see a wrecker for an 03/04my bar & measure up!!!...or just for the crush cans that bolt to the chassis, then the bar bolts to them! You may be able to just borrow them & if all goes well..You then need to buy the bar....
