2003-04 Disco SE worth the extra $ ?

Thinking of finally selling my 2002 S Td5 and upgrading to a D2a Td5 SE. (D3 will have to wait now). Given current pricing, are these vehicles worth the extra $'s and will the resale value reflect this difference ?
    Regards

Assuming that your new Disco will be a daily driver, as well as a play-thing, I would say that the extras are worth the extra $$$.

Resale wont be affected much in the long run, but the comfort levels being higher are where the real benefit is.

Just my thoughts, but I have always gone for a higher spec vehicle where possible, cause I spend a fair amount of time in it.

That said, the creature comforts cant over ride the obvious things such as history, mileage & price of a specific vehicle. But if you find 2 cars that are evenly matched on on these things, and one has the luxuries, well - I know which one I would have a hard time saying no to......

Hi mate - I have owned my 02 V8 since new. I love manuals, so replacing it with a V8 man of a later model would be hard. But for me, having had it since new and pampering it I reckon she will give me much more than the 130k odd on the clock already. I will forgo armrests and leather just to know that, as best you can, you have a sweet ride because its been looked after. I also suffer from growing attached to my vehicles.

As for the real differences between late D2 and D2a those with the later will tell you that there were 280 changes and yes they are much better...in reality its a bit different. In fact if you want a one off anecdote I got mine and my mate got his from the same dealer 6 months later. He got the little round headlights and a free DVD...since then however he has had a tail light that insists on retaining water and shorting, a clutch pedal that dives for cover on occasions, a windscreen that does not fit, water throughout his carpet from gunged up air con tubes, a seat spring in his posterior, a failed ABS modulator (obligatory) and a couple of other things that dont readily come to mind....his has only done 70,000k of all on road and religiously serviced (until a recent trip to Fraser baptised it off road). Mine has had only the ABS modulator and a set of front springs (sag) and recently a coil pack, but the coil pack is a service item. Mine has done 130k odd, lots of off road and lots of towing a 2 tonn boat. Both are manual V8s. Both very well serviced.

    Cheers
