D2 SLS suspension info - Sharing

Just thought I'd share my recent suspension upgrade as it involves keeping the SLS airbags on Grimmy

Setting the scene....... I have a tired original front end setup that was now holding the added weight of a steel bullbar.... 'twas a tad nose down, about 30mm.

Anyways replaced the front end springs with Std HD ones from Kings and OME sh0cks.... now about 25+mm over the nominated LR height.

Next tee'd up a fellow LROCB Clubbie (Thanks) with a Nanocom and laptop to reprograme the SLAB ECU to reset the default new SLS height. With the aid of a tape measure and a jack raised the back end 25mm ( Grimmy had kept nominated LR height), took the reading and then set/saved this in place.

Grimmy is now level and with a lift. I wasn't too keen on any higher as would loose some articulation and can still use the 40mm raise button without over stressing the bags.

On road firmer with more feedback and over the week went out for a little workout off road and much happier.

I am looking to lift my D2 over Xmas and have the SLS....from a mate who has nanocom ....

would be good to get an accurate step through of exactly what they did with the electronics. engine stuff on TD5 is easy do loads of that, but never done the ecu stuff so an accurate write up of notes would be good
....anything you can write up or PM me, thanks,

    Regards

Will get back to you soon Stevo. I was the monkey with the jack and tape measure through this.

Gotta get hold of the Nanocom driver 8-) to see what he did.
