Q1 ?
Q2. Main relay is not energized with inertia switch tripped, so no it wouldn't start.
Q3. P108 is the main fusebox, in the engine compartment.
Edit: Has the hazard switch been removed in case its faulty and permanently on?
2001 TD5 (friend's car.)
Hazard lights flash continuosly and can only be reset by disconnecting battery. They will then stay off until the ignition is turned on, and then start flashing again. This appears to be the same as Inertia switch tripped but I have checked the switch and it is ok.
With them reset I have tested the remote locking and the hazard switch and both these functions are ok.
The motor runs fine with the hazards flashing! I know the V8 also cuts the fuel supply but I have read that the TD5 does not?
Not sure but I think the central locking will not lock the doors with the motor running. This would be consistent with the inertia switch.
I have the Rave manual but cannot follow where the green white wire goes.
Q1 Apart from the hazard switch and the inertia switch is there any other trigger for continuos hazards?
Q2 Can anyone confirm whether the motor would run if the inertia switch was tripped?
Q3 Can anyone help me read the circuit diagrams? Like what does fuse box P101 represent? I realise that it is the fuse box under the dash but what is the significance of P101 compared to P108?
Q4 .....
Any help would be appreciated.
Colin

Thanks Graeme,
the motor does run so the fault must be further down or can the hazards be triggered by another source?
If I remove the inertia switch it is then open cct. this is the same as the tripped condition? I would need to bridge the connector to simulate an untripped switch.

Graeme,
Sorry I misread your earlier post. Yes I did remove the HAZARD switch and also I have tested the hazard switch when the fault is reset. ie before I turn on the ignition. The hazards work correctly off the hazard switch and I can turn them on and off by the switch.
But if I turn the ignition on the hazards immediately come on and will keep flashing incessantly. The only way I can stop them is by removing the battery lead. The car then appears to do everything normally until I turn the ignition on.
This is the same as a tripped inertia switch, but the motor still runs and the car is drivable except for the four blinkers going all the time!
So the main relay must be operating okay.???????
Thanks again
Colin
Hi Colin,
I would contact one of the AULRO members with a Nanocom (check out Electronic Diagnostics & check out Nanocom owner close to you. You should also post this here). Nanocom will show exactly where fault is. If you don't live close to anyone with a Nanocom you will have to go to LR Stealers & pay for the privelege.
Cheers..B
