Same with the turbo, it's barley noticable.
Question, who has pulled the cat out?
This might be keeping things quiet on mine.
The turbo smooths the pulses of the individual cylinders.

My old 903 V8 Cummins (no turbo) has just had the injector pump overhauled and doesn't it make a good crackle around 1500 rpm with a bit of throttle and a full load.

We use too, alooooong time ago, put about 5 litres of petrol to 500 litres of diesel in the the 903 vt's
Then take off to Sydney, a nice blue flame out the stacks at around $1.30 @ 2100 rpm.

Just to quieten it down. It'd been running on Simex and muds just about exclusively and I'd just decided it needed to be quietened down for the amount of open road driving that I do. I stuck a set of Pirelli ATR's on it which are very very quiet, but it was a bit of a wasted effort considering the exhaust - so I changed that back also. I now need to just pull the TD5 and that should make it quiet enough.

No pings, it was louder but not that loud. The turbo spooling is very cool though.

well I removed my massive front muffler on tuesday and had it replaced with a piece of pipe for a measly $40. the $ to result is pretty high. Turbo spool is definately alot earlier, there's a nice roar when giving it guts through the sand. The turbo is also a fair bit louder, especially if you have a snorkel.

The noise from the snorkel is something I've noticed again on mine, having got used to the original noise when the snorkel was fitted.

Where did you get the pipe, just from an exhaust place?, because thats pretty cheap.

Interesting, everybody has noticed the turbo making more noise.
Like posted earlier, it has made bugger all difference in the noise stakes on mine and I can not even hear my turbo spooling up.
Are you guys running exhaust cats??????????
