Of course it can. You need a sequential vapour injection system with the Thor engine. My local LR specialists have done quite a few Thors.

I can't direct you anywhere as I have no idea where (Nth. Suburbs) Padbury is located.

Who is this said LR specialist, would be keen on checking them out myself. Can you PM me the details?

I think you'll find this is Padbury in the northern suburbs of Perth.

I asked the same question AFTER i bought my 03?!

was told different info depending who was asked.

Had it done in Melbourne by RANGEROV automotive about 5 months ago.

Result X100! Highly recommend it (vapour injection)

Ended up with about 72lt (usable) of LPG, TD5 readers close your eyes, cost to fill $25!!!!! Get about 400km. I've done 15,000km and love it.
There is a few problems 1) only need small change at the servo, limited range (i have a 45lt ULP tank in the rear 1/4) and i find i drive it much harder than i used to, i think because of the cheap fuel!

    Hope this helps

I have been running closed loop converter and mixer system for about three years in my 02 D2 V8 Manual. It uses a standard mixer in the air intake snorkel but cleverly uses one of the 02 sensors to constantly adjust the mixture at the converter (with an electric idle solenoid and electric main tap solenoid in the vapour hose) to constantly seek stochiometric...very clever and actually gets just as good economy or better than the sequential...the doubters will doubt but its true (I have compared to others before). I get consistently 20 litres per 100k on LPG in and out to town in a mixture of peak hours and moderate driving...no highway at all in that figure. Its also a hell of a lot cheaper to install than sequential vap injection. I dont have backfire issues. I have programmed it to change over to LPG from petrol at 1100rpm on deceleration - smooth change over. I also like the low down torque and power - both very good. LPG is smoother running than petrol.

    Cheers

I had mine done by Dave at Farmport Auto Gas in Bunbury. Phone 97924288

He was the only person that I could find in WA that would touch the Disco II & came highly recommended by Rovertech in Bentley.

All up cost was $5700 including petrol tank. Would be cheaper if manifold tanks or a standard tank were used, but will cost you storage space.

I had an Elko Direct Sequential Injestion system installed with 2 x 40L gas cylinders suspended where the fuel tank used to be. Petrol is now in a 62L Brown Davis tank behind the RH rear wheel, filled from the normal filler & uses the original fuel pump.

Initial teething problems were sorted out by the Elko agent in Perth, and the system now works a treat. No noticeable power difference at all.

The only drawback was a very slight loss of exit angle. That's not all bad though, because it gave me a credible excuse to put in the 2" lift kit : )

In the two years since I've had the system, I've only seen one other D2 on LPG in Perth.

Bruce Davis Performance Landys at Annangrove and Diesel Gas Technologies / KLR Automotive at Kingswood do them. (KLR and DieselGas Technologies were owned by the same people but KLR has since been sold to one of their mechanics. Both workshops still do the installations. They are only two doors from each other in the same complex.)

    KLR/DGT did my P38A.

Years ago, Bruce used to send people to Riverstone LPG. They knew how to convert LR. They did my previous Rangie.
