Disco D1 bull bar same as early D2?

    Hey all

Anyone know if the bull bars differ (apart from SRS/non-SRS) between the D1 and D2? The car is almost exactly the same shape at the front, or am I being naive here?

    Thanks

    Owen

PS if anyone has a D2 winch bar they want to sell (to suit an early D2), I'm all ears - Perth.

Interesting question, I also thought they were the same and am interested in the same thing. When I bought my protection steps and bar I was told they didn't make side bars to suit the D2 but did for the D1.

I thought the differences were mainly in the rear half of the car not the front.

Can anyone clarify what the difference is?

D2 is wider but the same wheelbase,,
same chassis(at the front) so steps should fit,,
D2 bars are made to suit the crush cans also being a wider track maybe the bar is wider also??

dammit I shoulda measured when I had my two together,,,

Call ARB and TJM and ask if the part is the same.

The answer from any bar manufacturer / supplier will be NO. They are definitely a different part number.

I have heard of fitting a D2 bar to a D1, but never the other way round - and it probably wouldn't be a good fit due to the difference in width. From memory, I think that the mounting is also different.

I'm sure that this has been discussed in here before - have you tried a search ??
    Cheers .........

    I have a D1 winch bar on my D2. (2000)

Used the same crush cans but modified to suit, bar does touch the grill but not noticable
