    ABS Shuttle valve

looks like another little gremlin has surfaced for me. getting the flashing tree of life on dashboard from time to time, nanocom tells me its a shuttle valve error 254 times. clear faults and a couple days later same thing. just checked the resistance between pin 6 and 9 on the conector in and i get nothing, i have read there shoudl be a resistance there. can anyone confirm this for me and tell me if the local stealer is on the money with $170 for the new shuttle valve switch.
also have read you can replace the valve without removing the fluid lines if release the brake line clips from firewall and carefully lift the abs modulator up and use angle allen key to remove the bolts from the shuttle. anyone ??

Hi Roscoe, Just done one, and you would be hard presssed to do this properly without removing the lines, but have a go if you like. In any case, bleeding the system is easy and well advised as a service item, so it is as good as time as any to do it. BTW, AFAIR $150 was rrp??

It is easy with Nanocom, I have a Rovacom lite but same process. Just remove the modulator block, plug the hose holes with plastic bungs or something similar, invert it and fit the shuttle valve kit. Reverse this proceedure to refit, and foot bleed the system as per nomal. A power bled is a good thing to do at the end, and then do a quick repeat of the normal foot bleed. You should be able to do a 'ABS modulator bleed' also with Nanocom, this would be adviseable too.
