Send me a PM with the last 6 of your VIN & I'll check the spec of your car.
How can you tell if your D2 is controlled by a315mhz or a 433mhz key fob mechanism? I am looking to buy from ebuy but do not know how to tell the difference.
Send me a PM with the last 6 of your VIN & I'll check the spec of your car.

It was changed before the 2003MY. There is a VIN & MY cut over the Scouse should be able to supply.

I think it changed over sometime between 2000 & 2002 but I'd have to double check on Monday.

Funnily enough mine is an 01 build 02 complianced D2 and it had major dramas with Amcal chemists - ie interrupting the signal. I had LR change the receiver unit under the hood lining and the 2 keyfobs to make it run on the D1 signal and now I still have good range (20 metres or so usually) and it never plays up...and it was done out of the 3 year warranty but I prevailed on them to do it all for free because it was a problem that had nothing to do with age or mileage....![]()
Greg,
You must be careful in purchasing keys from ebay.
If they do not come the the bar code strip(2 barcodes to tell the bcm that this is a correct key) with the key then u have just wasted your money.
A few on this forum have already fallen for this trap.
DONT fall for it again.
There is NO other way to program the key if u dont have the barcodes.
Its not like the D1 where push this, hold this, stick ya tongue out, cross ya fingers & presto your plip is programmed.
Even with Scott chasing the frequency of the remote system alot of vehicles were changed because of problems with the alarm pick up, hence as someone has said, the 2 keys & roof ecu/aerial were replaced.
So Scott may say u originally had a 433mhZ, but if u are not the original owner somewhere in its life it may have been replaced!.
Cheers.

so how are you going to know if its been replaced ?
The frequency is on a sticker on the receiver in the roof I believe.
