Ive just fitted the 2 inch (50mm) lift to my D2

Shane at Suspension Stuff supplied the Dobinson Coils and Lovells shocks and the SLS kit came from 4x4 intel.

Many have done this lift before and most are happy.

Shane is fantastic to deal with. The 4x4 intel kit is top quality. The boys there can be difficult to reach though, so if you have sls you may need to be patient.

It took me 3 hours by myself with a pair of Jack stands and a trolly jack.

I found my crossmember needed to be spaced 10mm to ensure the front prop shaft cleared on full travel, BUT, my engine mounts were found to have collapsed and when new ones are fitted this will give a bit more clearance.

Handling? I had Bridgestone AT duellers fitted and just changed them to LT Pirelli ATR Scorpions. The handling improved by an amazing level.
With the lift the handling is not as crisp as the pre lift, but is still 90% better than the pre lift running the Bridgestones.

So Im very happy with the whole set up.

    Cheers

If you want a relatively cheap lift kit, try the Ironman brand. My brother in law has had this on his disco for about 3 years now and no problems at all. We ahve done Tassie, Big Desert, Simpson Desert, High Country and lots of smaller trips and he hasnt had an issue.

I thought his shocks might begin to fade on the Simpson Desert trip but they held up alright. I think he got the more expensive dampeners (foam I think) and paid around $8-900 for raised springs and dampeners. Dont think this included a steering dampener though...

I would be talking to Shane at Suspension Stuff! he is great. He will help you get what you want/need and at a great price!

Dobinson 2" springs and Lovelle shocks set me back $720 and it works very well! the springs are top of the range!

What do you mean the handling isnt as crisp? Does it lean more through the corners?

Yeah, just a little. Certainly nothing that has changed my driving style.
