    Discovery 2 Rear Doors

Does anybody know if the rear passenger doors can be modded to open wider on a Discovery 2?
They are very small doors for a vehicle of its size & wider opening would make access a lot easier.

well,, you could just pull the limit pin out and see how much more you get,, the problem will be the leading edge of the door folding in to the limit pin bracket

I guess I could do that, I thought there may have been a mod to make them open wider, as there is for the GU Patrol small rear door.

Interesting topic, I must admit the rear door opening is a bit rubbish to say the least.

I read somewhere, the rear doors on the D1 (and continued for the D2) were criticised by reviewers even in the early years for their size and the fact the door glass has limited downward travel.

The rear door size and window opening are directly related to the wheel base.

You couldn't have longer doors because the would be opening over the rear wheel. The glass doesn't go all the way down because the wheel arch gets in the way.

I would imagine the same critics would have complained about the length of the vehicle had the wheel base been increased.
