    TD5 - a no cost win!

just incase anyone else has this problem here's a tip.
wife came home from work at lunch, went to start the car to go back and nothing, dash lights on but not firing.
left it in the drive and i came home, checked battery seemed ok, tried switching to the aux battery, still no go.
called nrma, battery fine, must be starter. did a bump start down the street and all worked. nrma left me to deal with the issue.
got onto rave and checked starter location, found wire leading to starter, jiggled and pushed on firm. tried to start and all worked fine. took wire off again and sprayed with crc.
so anyone with simalar issue check the little brown wire connecting to starter motor.
    cheers

    hi scott,
thanks, good to be back in shorts and thongs....
clutch was not as bad as first thought but still need an overhaul. something to do with the plastic bearing inside getting hot and ceasing. have to again give davies performance credit where due as they did the job no fuss and had the car ready for collection when i returned.
just have to give it a service on the weekend and plan for the next off road adventure.
    cheers

    No Way!

we had had exactly the same thing for teh last two months, intermnitant starting! hot or cold, wet or dry,

pulled the two wires from the starter solonoid and cleaned them both, seems to be OK now.

was looking fwd to stripping down teh starter assy and show my manliness and use of tools!

    Hay Ewe
