    Another Stevo Tute...Airbag Suspension removal

G'day Fans........yep its another Stevo "useless as tits on a bull" tute...even comes with real crappy pics.....for extra flavour . Now onto the tute now that we have that frivolity out of the way....

Scenario....Smokey just keeps having a lie down....as per pic below. Mainly on unlevel ground or when a side and rear door were open at same time. Now to be sure.....late at night camping....having had one to many brewskys...it was great. During the day....very annoying

    Action

Well was starting to get pretty peed off at the snide comments from the "coiled" set....so decided to get it fixed. Did some research on here ( thanks Urban Panzer and others) and was looking at doing it myself ( I use the word myself here.....very loosely)....but as was in for some other things to be done at dealers...asked for a quote....$500 for airbag....$200 to fit . SWMBO already has the uppitys over $$ spent on Smokey...so rang airbagman....$295....

    What Now?

Going back to doing it "myself" like talk about none and buckleys...so time to rustle up a few mates...hopefully bribe them with beer....and "assist" me to do it . So most important part of the tute....and re read if necessary....GET SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Part of the Team....Mick G and Outlaw..being very helpful as per pic.

Even better is to stand around and have one do all the work...yep he's a legend PSimpson

Meanwhile Xbox aka Louis....thought this is how we wanted our meat cooked ( another important part of the tute is the BBQ for said help)

Being South African had to show him Aussie way

Oops sorry went off thread in me own frickin thread....back on topic

    Right.....ok wheel comes off

    Ummm.....eerrr....oh what was I doing

Release air....Pete did from valve at bag.

Remove airbag heres the airbag removed

Put new airbag in after removing some nut thing and stripping back some plastic as nozzle different to OEM...(comes with instructions....pffft even I could almost do it )

Here's me helping in some kinda way....though does look like I am trying to punch one out...be rest assured I wasnt

Wheel back on and hilift removed and this is how it looked...very deflated

Start Smokey up and watch the car rise....oooohhhh....then.....huuuuhhhhh.....airbag looked kinda messed up..

So I take Smokey for a drive to see if the airbag will pop into place and come back and voila

    Random top of Airbag pic

So there you have it......remember most important part of tute...have someone there who knows what they are doing.....also beer....and yummy boewors sausages and Mrs Balls chutney ( would hate to see what Mr Balls chutney looked like )

But seriously....big thanks to Pete for his efforts...all up probably took 40-50mins.....so pretty reasonable. Louis for letting us use his work place to do the work and for putting on dinner....much appreciado. Mick for ummm,,,,errrrr....oh yeah Supervising and Josh....Josh.....hmmm.....yeah for just being Josh . Thanks again mates....really do appreciate the support and work done .

Keep eyes peeled for another Stevo Tute coming your way soon

    Regards

    Stevo

Well theres still heaps to do....mind you if I do anymore at the moment...I may have to do a tute on dealing with divorce after SWMBO leaves you for spending more time and $$$ on your vehicle than them ,

and here I was thinking it'd be a Stevo tute on removing SRS airbags, you know, along the lines of
"walk to the front of the car with an 18lb sledge hammer, whack bullbar with sledge hammer, remove deployed air bag from steering wheel and dash..."

You'll be happy now with the title Rick....just for you . Now if I was doing one on SRS airbags...what you have described sounds right up my alley ,
