    Well this thread has lasted. Driving my disco around the Atherton tablelands,waving to everyone and anyone in a LANDY now has just about all waving back[probably sick of ignoring me]

    Just got back from 2 weeks holiday in mandurah, WA.

    Never seen so many landrovers in all my life!!

    Love the wave!!!

    Very Australian, love it.... specially as I pass people on the 2 lane highways, folks let you past, I wave thanks.......

    Defenders are the best no doubt, some of the new D3 drivers do not have the bond..... no idea what a landie is..... shame their a nice unit. I go through spates but majority of the time I like to wave.

    I just have one question...... If you wave and nobody saw it, did you really a wave?????

    Just spent a relaxing week in Albany ( they also have a Landrover dealership) at the Kalgan River Caravan Park and gave the wave to many a Disco owner around town with zero results. There a many Discos in Albany as well. It must be a Disco thing and I drive a Disco?

    I've spent a fair chunk of time between mid January and late February driving around the main and backroads of the Otways for work and the amount of return waves i got from D1, D2, County, Defender and old rangie drivers surprised me.

    There was also an obvious difference between the main and the backroads as well. On the main roads i got about a 50% return wave and on the backroads i got around a 80% return wave.

    For some reason i didn't get any waves from a single D3 or any newer rangies...though i didn't run across any of them on the backroads either.
