Not surprised that the new transfer runs better than the old one!
Wow - so many teeth broken that only a dentist could smile.
Pity Erich is only doing DIIs at the moment we wanted a rear axle housing for a ABS D1 and he's unable to help. Been good at other times though.

oil
When I first brought the landy I brought in Melbourne through a yard it had done 116000 was ment to be fully serviced when I pick it up. Drove it back to Darwin 3750kms. It's first servies in Darwin the workshop drained the oil out of the transfer case and only about 300 to 400 mls came out and there was no leak from the transfer case.
I have no idear how long it had so little oil in it. It had full service history through a land rover work shop in sydney. it blew at 143000 only 27000 after i brought it. the old one had no CDL but the new one dose so the a little win.
with all the help from the forurm I got out of it for under $1000 so it wasn't to bad and the car was off the road for 2 weeks the part only took 4 day from sydney by road
It didn't do to bad there was a clunk in the transfer case on a Monday just thought i ran over someting on the road and it didn't let go untill thursday about 300km later so 4 day that not bad

Thanks mate, I'm really no Disco god though only put you onto the only man that can strip a D2 blindfolded. Good to hear that you're back on the road though, its a PITA when they're off the road.
Cheers

Thanks for the comments - much appreciated. Always a pleasure to help out when we can - you never know we might need it one day, especially as we travel up to the Territory a lot.
Keep those beers cold as we might take you up on it one day.
We will be off to Gapuwiyak in under 4 weeks - the first 4wds are crossing the Goyder now and as long as there is no more rain the track should be OK.
