    Air suspension bag or compressor

I am gonna inspect a D2 tommorow and from the photos it seems that the car is sagged on the back. Yes it is a 7 seater and has SLS.
Is there a quick way to check whether it the air suspension bag or the compressor is faulty?
If the compressor is faulty is worthwhile to replace the air suspension with coil spring suspension kit?
    Thanks

Take along a spray bottle of washing up liquid in water. Splash the bags - if they are leaking you'll see bubbles as the air escapes through the membrane. If it pumps up when it is turned on then compressor working! Not sure about cost of compressor etc so can't really answer the last - except to say when I bought mine last year it was the bags; replaced both and so far so good...

if the car has dropped overnight I would offer $1000 less than your price stating the need to replace components. Once it has dropped once, it will continue to do so untill the compressor fails. Ensure the dealer knows this.

    RQG100041

As a guide the compressor should inflate the airbags bags in around 20-30 seconds from standard road height to "off-road" height. Any longer and its on its way out.

Do an internet search for part number RQG100041 - Air Supply Unit. New compressors do come up cheap now and again, LR will charge around $940 I think.

Unfortunately there is not a kit on the market to recondition the D2 Compressor (The kit for the Range Rover will not fit the D2's Wabco unit).

Pedro's right with his figure of $1000 as a reduction in purchase price. If you need Airbags as well, it will cover most of the cost, possibly all if you can find a bargain out there.

Airfreight from UK is about 45 Pounds, from US about US$100.

    Good luck

The air suspension turn out to be just fine. It must be the angle of the photograph.

But 3 amigos were there and a couple of diesel leaks at the regulator and fuel filter. Got quoted around less than $800 to get it fix at toorak tractor.

Hopefully they can finish them all by tommorow so I can take the car home after I pay the remaining amount to seller anyway....
