Thread: Shredded unknown wires???

Could any one help me to ID some wires I have found under my newly acquired 2000 Disc TD5 manual that have been torn apart mid-wire?

I'm still to test all the options on the car and the rear airbags have been replaced with coil springs.

1) At the top of the drives front wheel arch there is a fairly thick black wire (the stealer sprayed the underside black so could be a different colour originally) that comes from the engine bay and then runs on top of the chassis rail toward the back. Any idea on what this wire could be?
(Both end of the torn wire are there and could be spliced together, but I would like to check first.)

2) At the rear of the inlet manifold there is a sender unit of sorts with a black wire hanging from it that looks to have been cut. Any ideas on what this unit is and where the wire should go to?

3) Final, on the drivers side of the engine hanging down from a lomb just above the starter motor is torn apart white with black strip wire. Any idea on what the wire is for and where it should go to?

Everyone's assistance is much appreciated as my right hand is currently incapacitated and I would like to know these things prior to going back to the stealer and being fed a line.

Firstly you may find a RAVE manual for the car helps heaps... you can get them from here:

1).. maybe a power feed for a trailer?... where does the engine bay end go?

2) I can't see any sender at the back of my inlet manifold.. The fuel Temp sensor is behind there and there is a sensor for Inlet pressure and temp - but that is half way down the manifold on the engine side.

3) The stripey wire I have no idea I'm afraid. I've had a look at my Rave - but without being able to follow the wire and at least see what else seems associated - it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. There are no black and white wires on the starter circuit page. The wiring diagram in Rave may help you sus it out...
