IMO they are selling at around $9-14k.
It sounds like it might be an S model which is their base which is good and bad.
Less to go wrong less for creature comforts though.

Take that car for a drive and than others to compare and be amazed at the difference.

Try and find a chipped one too and see the difference.

I drove a few and settled on a tdi instead because they were simpler and I bought well and fitted a few extras plus checked and changed all fluids and belts etc.

Good luck, do not ruch into one as there will always be another.
the leather is great by the way, very easy to keep clean.

The paint is a bronze/gold colour with few marks in the paint work. The underside has had the usual car dealer coat of black but seems to be pretty tidy. There is a few minor oil leaks up around the rocker box (the area is damp but not dripping)

I haven't driven the car yet bu my question is based on the description what's people opinion on a fair price for this car?

I have a TD5 auto wich I bought new in 2000 & now has 178K.
I use it as a daily drive (60K round trip) and tow a camper trailer & 2 tonn power boat..obviously not at the same time
The questions you need to ask is if injector wiring harness has been replaced (and when) & if possible get it checked on dealer or Nanocom computer to find out if there are any major logged errors. I suspect that the oil you are seeing is actually coming out of injector harness., as sensors around head are part of this harness. This is where I first spotted the problem.
Oil leaks in injector wiring harness & ABS/traction control modulator or wheel sensor are the only major issues I have had.
Considering the offroad driving (mainly sand) & towing that I use vehicle for I consider these issues minor & it has never left me stranded.

There are many posts on these & other issues. Just use the 'search' function & enter TD5 injector harness or 3 amigos.
