Bloody moths![]()
The D2 alarm was going off every now & then at home stretching the friendship with the neighbours,& driving us crazy.
Found a medium sized moth flying around in it yesterday, looks like it was the culprit.Got rid of it & hasnt gone off since.
As moths are nocturnal, this is why it was going off at night & not during the day.
Thought this might be of some help to others..

If you want to avoid the alarm going off cause of the bloody moths, then lock it with the key as this doesn't activate the volumetric sensors. We use this locking when we are off camping as the bloody moths set our alarm off a few times at the wee hours of the morning....not many happy campers around us then...

Had exactly the same problem a couple of weeks ago - still nice to know just how sensitive the alarm system is. This is only the third time our alarm has gone off. First time I think one of the girls had left a soft toy balancing on the top of the back seat - it must have dozed off at 1:30 'cos that's when the alarm wentSecond time my wife was shopping and left one of the girls in the car reading while she ducked into one shop - out of habit she locked the car
Bec was oblivious until after a minute or two she moved - apparently it's very loud inside the car
Fortunately she had the nouse to realise what the problem was and sat still - very still
cheers, Andy

I was camping at Frecinet pininsula in Tassie with my brother in law and sister a couple of years back. My BIL has the same year disco as me (after I convinced him not to buy a Prado). At around 2 am the alarm went off.
I flew out of bed and out of the tent frantically fumbling with the key fob and pressing buttons to no avail. Turns out it was his alarm going off but it still scared the crap out of me!
Use the key locking now...
Angus
I have had an engel fridge do the same thing at night.
Best thing when camping is lock vehicle with key, This way we all get a nice snooze with no-ones alarm going off
Cheers
Yep, done that before with the dog in the back. Poor bugger, took a few days to get his confidence back. Then the wife went and did same.
Use key in door lock now. Dog has calmed a bit now.
Didnt think of moths though, I'll use the key when camping now too. Thanks![]()
